Weaving Barichara into the Earth Regeneration Fund

A few weeks ago, the Earth Regeneration Fund was born in the Greater Tkaronto Bioregion with a gathering of representatives from five bioregions. Barichara was a key participant in the process. We feel very pleased to help others learn by our example how to create innovative learning models while prototyping our own bioregional funding ecosystem.

Our role has always been to serve as a real-world prototype for bioregional regeneration at holistic territorial scales. Now we join with Cascadia, Forests of the Northeast, the Greater Tkaronto, the Ogallala / High Plains, and the Northern Andes to weave efforts through the leadership of the Design School for Regenerating Earth.

For years now, we have hosted Barichara Updates about our progress -- making the recordings publicly available for all who want to learn alongside us. The model of bioregional regeneration that we have developed is a vital teaching tool in bioregional activation tours all over the world and through the learning journeys hosted in the Design School.

We resonate deeply with the notion that the Earth Regeneration Fund is a web of relationships bound together as a powerful unifying story about how to create regenerative financial flows within and among bioregions all over the world. Learn more about the fund by watching this video:

In Barichara, we are seeking to fund an entire bioregional learning ecosystem that flows across many diverse regenerative initiatives in our territory. This is part of our vision to restore watersheds and expand the native forest in a manner that honors reciprocity agreements among donors and local practitioners.

We are weaving our story into the planetary narrative to show that Barichara plays a key role in helping others learn how to regenerate the Earth. We already welcome people to visit regenerative projects through Suna Barichara, have an incubator for economic models in Casa Común, demonstration sites for syntropic agroforestry, a healing center, an alternative forest school, and more.

Here in Barichara, we are leading the way. Our vision has always been to support other landscapes in their regenerative efforts. Now we have a beautiful alignment with the story of a planetary network of bioregional funding ecosystems to bring our local story into harmony with. It feels really good to weave with the Earth Regeneration Fund!

Onward, fellow humans.
