A Step Toward Bioregional Governance

We took an important step yesterday toward a more bioregional form of community governance in Barichara.

Penny Heiple and I are creating a new organization called Tierra Sagrada whose mission is to bring private land into the commons as part of our larger networks of regenerative work in the territory.

Yesterday we invited representatives from four key activities -- Bioparque Moncora, Sueños del Bosque, Asociación Aquileo Parra, and Tierra Sagrada -- into a process of collective dreaming for the land of Las Ruinas. We could feel how strongly the energies are opening toward community learning and a focus on young children.

This is connected to restoring the native forest of this territory and recuperation of the watersheds -- through community learning ecosystems and partnerships across the diversity of schools that exist.

It was the first step on a long path into the future. We can feel how different it is to create together with trust and enthusiasm among those who care about future generations.

Onward, fellow humans.
